[0:06] Did VAR just rob Arsenal of a Champions League semi-final lead in Madrid? Mikel Arteta certainly thinks so — and honestly, it's hard to argue with him.

[0:15] Welcome to The Full Time Report. I'm Tom. It is Thursday the thirtieth of April, eight in the morning, and last night was proper European football. Arsenal were in Madrid, three penalties were given, one was taken away — and the whole thing ended one-all.

[0:31] On top of that, tonight we've got two Europa League semi-finals first legs. Forest versus Villa — the all-English tie — and Braga hosting Freiburg. Big, big evening ahead.

[0:42] Plus transfers are ticking along, Salah's future still hasn't officially landed yet, and there's a whopping injury list heading into the weekend. Let's get into it.

Arsenal 1-1 Atlético Madrid — UCL Semi-Final First Leg

[0:50] Right. Arsenal versus Atlético Madrid, Champions League semi-final first leg, the Wanda Metropolitano, sixty-eight thousand four hundred and twenty-one people watching.

[3:21] He also said he was incredibly proud of his players, that Arsenal handled the context brilliantly over nine and a half months, and that — crucially — the tie is still in their hands.

[3:31] Bukayo Saka echoed that. Calm as you like. He said: "A draw away from home in a Champions League semi-final is not a bad result. At home, with our fans, it's going to be different. I'm confident about that."

[3:44] Gyökeres chipped in with a similar vibe. First half they controlled it, second half Atlético pressed them hard, but he said — it's only half time. Two legs. One game left.

[6:08] Arsenal went into that game without Merino and managed fine, to be fair. But they're thin in midfield, and against Atlético's press you need bodies you can trust. Something to keep an eye on over the next few days.

UEL Semi-Finals Preview — Tonight's Action

[6:21] Right, let's turn to tonight. Because if you thought last night's UCL was spicy, the Europa League semi-finals could be just as good.

[6:29] First up — and this is the one everyone in England will be watching — Nottingham Forest against Aston Villa. City Ground. Eight o'clock. First leg.

[8:18] On the injury front — Forest are without Hudson-Odoi long-term, Murillo's out until the fourth, and Sangare is touch-and-go. Chris Wood is back but on managed minutes. Injury Roundup — GW35 and Beyond

[12:35] Right, the injury table. It's a big one this week, so let me give you the key names heading into GW35 and the upcoming European second legs.

[12:45] Liverpool are down Mohamed Salah — hamstring, out until June — and Alisson Becker is also listed with an undisclosed injury expected until the third of May. Conor Bradley's got a long-term knee problem keeping him out until November. That is a lot of big names missing at Anfield.

[13:01] Chelsea: Levi Colwill is out with an ACL tear, which is a brutal blow for a young central defender. Reece James has a thigh problem until the fourth. Estevao — the Brazilian starlet — is out until June. And Mudryk, of course, is suspended.

[13:16] Tottenham are absolutely decimated. Xavi Simons is out until February twenty-twenty-seven with an ACL tear — season done before it properly started. On top of that, Kudus, Kulusevski, Romero, Solanke — Spurs are without huge chunks of their best players.

[13:32] Manchester City — Gvardiol out until the ninth, Ruben Dias until the fourth, and Rodri has a groin problem until the fourth as well. City without Dias and Rodri at the same time is a proper concern.

[13:43] Manchester United have Lisandro Martínez suspended until the ninth, De Ligt out until late May. Matheus Cunha is touch-and-go for the third. And Luke Shaw — still not back.

[13:53] Newcastle are without Alexander Isak — calf problem — plus Sandro Tonali is carrying a groin issue which makes that transfer saga even more complicated. Anthony Gordon is borderline for the second.

[14:06] For any GW35 Fantasy players still clinging on — Bournemouth are without Kluivert until the seventeenth, Brentford have got about seven players out including Damsgaard, Hickey, Janelt, Henderson. Brighton have lost Stefanos Tzimas for the season to a knee injury. That's a big one.

[14:23] The injury board across the league is absolutely carnage right now — twenty-one knee injuries at last count, twelve ankle problems, twelve thigh issues. It is the last sprint of the season and bodies are giving out everywhere.
